Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

• Account info: Email address and password (hashed) when you sign up.
• Memory data: Commits, bookmarks, branches, and structured content you store through the Service.
• Usage data: API call counts, feature usage, and performance metrics.
• Conversation data: Messages exchanged during the onboarding chat on askboswell.com, used to personalize your experience.
• Browser storage: A visitor ID and visit count in localStorage for return visitor recognition. No third-party tracking cookies.
• Payment info: Processed by Stripe. We do not store card numbers.

2. How We Use It

• To provide and improve the Service
• To personalize your experience (themes, demos, hero content)
• To process payments and manage your subscription
• To communicate about your account, billing, and service updates
• To monitor for abuse and enforce our Terms of Service

3. What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your data
• We do not use your memory data to train AI models
• We do not share your data with advertisers
• We do not use third-party tracking or analytics cookies

4. Third-Party Services

• Stripe: Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic (Claude): AI inference for the onboarding chat and classification. Conversation data is sent to Anthropic's API for real-time processing. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Railway: Infrastructure hosting. Data stored on Railway's servers in the US.
• Google Fonts: Font delivery. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention

• Active accounts: Data retained for the life of your account.
• Free tier: Memories older than 30 days may be archived.
• Deleted accounts: Data deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• Onboarding conversations: Retained for personalization. You can request deletion.

6. Your Rights

You can:

• Access your data through the API or dashboard
• Export your data at any time
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Opt out of non-essential communications

7. Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Access to production systems is restricted. We do not guarantee absolute security — no system can.

8. Children

Boswell is not intended for children under 13. Education plans are administered by schools and districts who are responsible for compliance with COPPA and FERPA.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before taking effect.
